About DCO Dental

On behalf of the Partners and Our Team Welcome to DCO Dental

DCO Dental Group was founded in 2009, and now spans across 3 sites Sale (M33), Timperley (WA15) and Brooklands (M33). Combined, we have 12 surgeries – 5 at Sale, 4 at Timperley and 3 at Brooklands.

We aim to provide a relaxed and friendly environment, and take great pride in the quality of both clinical care and our customer service. We are committed to providing a continuous high standard of both NHS and Private care for our patients.

At DCO, we believe that an educational and preventative approach is better – and it is our aim to educate and assist patients in their long term oral health routines to prevent dental disease rather than having to treat it.

Commitments

We will always endeavour to

  • Involve patients in making decisions about their treatment
  • Provide a personalised treatment plan
  • Provide a safe and caring environment to provide dental care
  • Ensure disabled access and parking
  • Involve you in choosing your dentist
  • Respect patients privacy, dignity and independence
  • Take into account patients views and experiences when planning how we deliver our service

At DCO Dental we work hard to ensure that equality and diversity is at the heart of what we do. We continually strive to ensure that the diverse needs of our community can be met and everyone has equal access to the services we provide. Some of the ways we are currently doing this is by:

  • Applying for the Autism Friendly Award via The National Autistic Society
  • Learning more about dementia by undertaking the Dementia Friends Programme with the Alzheimer’s Society.
  • Keeping up to date with local strategies of Greater Manchester Authorities, such as Pride in Practice and GM Autism Friendly Strategy 2019-2022.

We would like you to

  • Participate in your dental treatment, for example advice about prevention and diet that we have asked you to continue at home
  • Arrive on time for your appointment.
  • Give at least 24 hours notice if you are unable to keep your appointment. If you fail to attend two appointments, or cancel three appointments at short notice (less than 24 hours before an appointment) within a twelve month period we may remove you from the patient list.
  • Advise us of any changes to your contact details (address, telephone numbers, email) to help us keep our records up to date and ensure that we are able to contact you.

We enforce a zero tolerance policy to aggression or violence within our practice and patients who behave in such a way will be removed from the patient list and Manchester ICB notified.

We are committed to supporting each other

To continually grow and develop in our roles.  This is evidenced by our most recent accreditation of Investors in People in March 2019. We will now work with Investors in People to continue to motivate and engage effectively with each other and develop a culture that aligns with delivering a service that is outstanding!

There are currently over 50 members of staff at DCO Dental Group and we are very proud of the skills and experience everyone brings to the team.

We are committed to quality

Quality assurance can be described as ensuring our services and care meets specified requirements and guidelines. Our management team carry out regular reviews, audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance and look for ways to further develop to give you confidence and reassurance in our services.

At DCO Dental, we follow all recommended legislation and clinical guidelines. Some of our governing bodies and documents include the General Dental Council (GDC), the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the HTM 01-05 document (Infection Control and Waste Disposal).

The whole team regularly attends training courses to enable us to keep up to date with the latest training and guidance to allow us to provide you with the best possible service, with your safety and comfort in mind.

We have also been accredited with the BDA Good Practice Scheme Award.

The BDA Good Practice Scheme is a quality assurance accolade that allows to communicate to patients that DCO Dental is committed to achieving high standards of good practice on clinical, professional and legal responsibilities.
